Where Should I Focus My Marketing?

This is a question we get asked a lot.

The short answer is that it's a different answer for everyone, depending on

What an antenna providing 13 channels teaches us about marketing?

what your goals are. You will hear us saying again and again to get on TikTok, create a LinkedIn, etc.

That is what we would like, eventually.

For now, we want you to understand one thing, and we're going to explain it by telling you a story about Joy.

Joy is in charge of most of our social media content here at Cat's Cove.

Joy recently told us that she got an antenna for her TV to pick up digital signals. She went from 0 channels to now 13 channels.

This is more channels than she has ever had in her life.

This got us all thinking about access. Joy now has access to media that she didn't have before, just from one simple, affordable device.

With just one social media platform you will have access to an audience that you never had before.

Would it be great to have the TV, maybe cable, as well as Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney+? Of course it would. We all love and are probably used to options.

However, the point is that Joy now has access through one device, which she previously didn't have.

You don't need access to everything. You need access to one thing, at least to start.

You need to get your "13 Channels." Whether that's a Facebook page, a Google My Business profile, LinkedIn: just start with one.

13 channels may be more than you've ever had in your life.

Joy and her new toy.

With just one social media platform you will have access to an audience that you never had before.

So the bottom line? Make sure you are using at least one social media platform.

That's our advice. If you're just starting out, focus your marketing on one platform, especially if that's the most you've ever had. One is a heck of a lot better than none.
