Hot, Humid with a Chance of Deer Fly Bites

Updated: Aug 7, 2020

It’s summer-y out. Too summery.

This past Canada Day weekend we were blessed with the most glorious weather ever: not too hot, not too humid, and not too buggy.

Yes. it was a weekend for the books. Sunshine, a light breeze and the short-lived threat of thunderstorms that drove us all inside to re-hydrate. Perfection.

We Canadians endure extreme weather year round. It’s the same every year. We chatter through the freezing winter months, eagerly counting the days ‘till summer. Then summer comes and - bam! - bugs, humidity and blistering heat.

Why do we live here again?

Just kidding.

I guess that’s the price we pay for living in cottage country. The lake is always there to cool us down.

So while the thermometer continues to rise this week, forcing many of us to switch from fans to AC, let’s all thank mother nature for the brief, glorious weather that was last weekend.
