There are often bucket-list items that you didn’t even know you wanted to put on your list. That is, until the opportunity presents itself.
That’s exactly what happened here at the Cat’s Cove headquarters when we learned the ever-popular Stewart Park Festival in Perth, Ontario was hiring an administrator.
And that’s when we quickly added a new item onto our bucket list.
We’re thrilled to announce that our proposal was accepted, and this summer, we’ll be working for the 2017 Stewart Park Festival! #happydance
The administrator’s role will be to provide ongoing support from an administrative, marketing, sponsorship and day-of angle. Essentially, we’ll be there to support what’s already a well-oiled machine. The SPF committee consists of long-time and passionate volunteers who truly believe in what they’re bringing to Perth: a three-day festival that offers good music, creative workshops, interesting vendors and really, really good times. When we met with the committee a couple of weeks ago, we kind of fell in love. They’re such a wonderful group of people who want what’s best for the festival. They have drive, spirit and commitment to the festival.
Just last year, the festival celebrated its 25th anniversary. It’s a landmark weekend where the community gathers in the park while welcoming visitors from near and far.
And we love what they want to do with the coming years. While continuing to bring in good music, workshops and vendors, the committee has crafted some new ideas to further welcome guests. For instance, they’ll have bicycle racks available for cyclists rolling (pedalling?) into town. It’s those small yet effective gestures that have demonstrated why people love coming to the Stewart Park Festival.
They also told us they want to encourage more families to the park that weekend. With a four- and two-year-old in tow, we hope that our own experiences and insight will help further develop that goal (goldfish cracker stations?!) while also providing support with our background in marketing and event planning.
We can’t wait to begin this partnership where we’ll work alongside the committee to help make the 26th annual Stewart Park Festival a continued success. As the festival approaches, we’ll definitely be keeping you in the loop. For more information on the Stewart Park Festival, visit the Stewart Park Festival website.
